On March 5, 2020, the Sixth Circuit reversed the convictions of Dr. Richard E. Paulus, a retired interventional cardiologist whom the government alleged had performed unnecessary medical procedures. The appellate court found that material, exculpatory evidence had been withheld from Dr. Paulus in violation of his rights under Brady v. Maryland.
