George Washington University Law School, where he was a Thurgood Marshall Scholar, and his B.A. from the University of Colorado Boulder.  In law school, he was involved with the Tax Law Society, the Business and Finance Society, and the Banking and Securities Society. He also spent two semesters as a law clerk at the Securities and Exchange Commission and another semester at the Department of Homeland Security focusing on white collar crime investigations.
